Methodology and attribution
Statewide effective rates come from 2024 ACS owner-occupied housing data as compiled in the Tax Foundation 2026 state rankings. NMC models estimates from that source; we did not originate the ACS microdata.
Rankings and research tables that show a dollar tax apply the statewide or county effective rate to a user-selected home value with a 100% assessment ratio and no exemptions, unless a tool explicitly lets the user change those inputs.
Estimates are for planning only. Actual bills vary by assessed value, taxing districts, special assessments, reassessment rules, and local law. This is not tax, legal, or financial advice and is not an official assessor tool.
